Désirée Ratner, M.D. is in private practice in New York City and serves as Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She specializes in the management of patients with high-risk skin cancers and Mohs Micrographic Surgery. She is the go-to expert for patients requiring specialized management of complex skin cancers. Her unwavering commitment to achieving the best possible oncologic and aesthetic surgical outcomes for her patients is well known.
Dr. Ratner is board certified in Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology as well as in Dermatology. She graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, did her dermatology residency at the University of Michigan, and completed a specialized two-year fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery at New England Medical Center and the Lahey Clinic. She was the Director of Dermatologic Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center of the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital for over 15 years, and Director of the Comprehensive Skin Cancer Center at Mount Sinai Beth Israel for over five years. She founded her solo private practice in 2018.
Dr. Ratner is nationally and internationally recognized as a leader in the field of Mohs surgery. She is Co-Editor of the Dermatologic Surgery Journal and Associate Editor of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. She has over 130 publications and has given numerous national and international presentations. She has been consistently listed in New York Magazine's Best Doctors, Castle Connolly’s Best Doctors, and the New York Times Magazine’s Super Doctors.
